Shared-link checks

Inspect the destination before trusting the label

A pasted URL can be old, redirected, mismatched or incomplete. Check where it leads and whether the live page still supports the claim attached to it.

Six checks for a shared link

  1. Read the host. Look for misspellings, unexpected subdomains or a different final domain.
  2. Follow the redirect. Confirm it ends on the expected category or item rather than a homepage or unrelated result.
  3. Match the item. Check model, colour, size, quantity and other options on the final page.
  4. Date the offer. Record when price, stock and shipping were checked; do not copy an undated figure into a guide.
  5. Trace the evidence. QC or warehouse photos are useful only when their source and item match are clear.
  6. Keep the limits. A working URL does not prove quality, authenticity, sales or seller reliability.
